We are off to The Games!

Our Physio is off to the Commonwealth Games

This month sees our world-class physiotherapist, Keith Graham, go to help the athletes at the Common Wealth Games!! Keith already met a favourite from the Cleve Chiropractic clinic and indeed a Bristol favourite Bradley Burrows. Bradley is an international weightlifter for Great Britain and is the British snatch record holder! To see Bradley’s message to us or to keep up-to-date with Keith’s adventures, please check out our Twitter page! If meeting one Bradley wasn’t enough, after meeting Bradley Burrows, Keith has gone on to nearly get run over by Bradley Wiggins at the velodrome! What a time Keith is having and it’s not even started yet! Good luck Keith, keep waving the flag for Cleve Chiropractic and Next Step, Downend and Mangotsfield’s access to world-class treatments for injuries!
Baby Button is now up and walking and saying her first words…only joking, but at 13 weeks old I am certain that she is doing complex math in her head (or at least that what it looks like when she sticks her tongue out!!). Baby Button, has been on her first camping trip and had her first swimming lesson at Turtle Tots, where she survived her first Button BBQ and her first accidental dunking with her dad. So to be fair, she is already ahead of the game as she can now cook sausages and swim underwater!!
Our friend Tamsin insisted over and over and again that I mention her so there you go Tamsin. She is the one and only handstand specialist that I have ever met with her beautiful baby Flo. I don’t know how they do it?!
Thank you for all of the suggestions about how to reduce the pressure on landfill due to the nappy mountains produced by millions of disposable nappies per day. My favourite was a nappy recycling bin that was collected every 2 weeks by Green Bottoms for £14. We could even share the cost with other local nappy producers but alas their service has stopped until 2015 whilst they sort out their recycling centres. This is frustrating because I can’t find a disposable nappy that I can put into the normal recycling. Any help please?!
As for our good friend and sports therapist James Boulton who is on a career break (after only a year!) until September, he also tweeted us with photos of his adventures. He is currently in Bali…I’m not sure that I’m going to keep talking about James and his perfect holiday experience as it makes feel bad that I never did the whole travelling thing…maybe he will get a (non life-threatening) boil that I can talk about to cheer me up! Only kidding Jimbo, stay safe with your good lady. Don’t forget the fridge magnets from each country and don’t carry other people’s luggage through customs, we do want you back to work at some point!
I hope that everybody is enjoying the hot weather at the moment. Good weather in this country is generally fleeting and followed by years of abstinence so make the most of it! Good weather brings it problems however. Not just the obvious things like dehydration and sunburn but also we always see an increase in back pain due to gardening injuries and also as pre-season kicks in with football and rugby lots of ankle and calf injuries occur with the hard ground. So if you are suffering with any summer injuries please book in!
A chiropractic friend of mine James Everitt, who is a lovely bloke, has taken up my old Job at QPR FC. It’s a bit too far to commute so I’m glad that the chiropractic flag is still burning brightly at QPR with old Arry’, congrats James! Training and therefore treatment has recommenced at Bristol Rovers, it’s going to be an interesting season and the camp is positive so I’m looking forward to being involved for my 12th season…where did the years go?!! Sports Chiropractic is a perfect type of therapy for treating sports injuries. For 12 years I have worked in Premiership rugby, Premiership football, international athletics (including the Olympics), International Judo, Snooker, Tennis, Cricket, Swimming, Triathlon, Irish dancing and many other sports.
