Home from Cuba

Back home again

So we made it back safe and sound from our adventure in Cuba. And boy, what a shock! We have gone from the the calm tropical warmth of the Caribbean back to the worst weather on record! I’m not complaining but seriously it feels like I\’m drowning, plus the storms keep waking me up at night. No wonder the Romans left. Can you imagine growing up in the Mediterranean and then being posted here?! Maybe the weather is the secret as to why we haven\’t been invaded since 1066.

Anyway since I have been back my wife keeps insisting that we go to Kiddicare in Cribbs Causway as we await for the arrival of our first child (the unlikely due date is the 21st April). Last time we went I bumped into a patient who explained that he was having similar pressures from his wife. I promptly showed him the 3 page, typed, list of baby things that I had been instructed that we MUST have. I thought that he would look at me in sympathy but instead, and to my wife\’s delight, he said that the list looked useful and asked us to email him a copy! Later on, whilst looking at the only thing that I wanted (a WIFI enabled video camera that you can look at from your iphone!) I thought to myself that I used to bump into my patients in night clubs and bars, now its bloody Kiddiecare, what  has happened to me!!

On the work front, Iain, my associate chiropractor, is depressed at the moment because he can’t get out much to play golf with all the rain. Iain has an equal love for Golf and Rugby so at least he can watch the 6 nations with me! Iain is TPI golf trained enabling him to work with pro golfers and help them with the mechanics of their body in relation to the golf swing. If you love golf then this great value assessment and treatment procedure cant be missed to enhance your game!

This month saw the start of the winter Olympics and I would like to congratulate my old friend Jenny Jones on her amazing bronze medal in the snow boarding slopestyle. We were in the same year at the Ridings high school and our family’s are still friends. Dominic Parsons (who wont mind me telling you we treat at the Bath training facility), ran in the crazy sport of the mens Skeleton and came a respectable 10th place. Doms a great guy and trains seriously hard so well done mate!

Next week my wife and I are going for a 3D scan, so I will have to let you know how that goes in the following edition but for now here’s hoping for a blog which is less dominated by the weather,
