Meet the Team
Tim Button
Since 2003, Tim has established Cleve Chiropractic as one of the UK’s top clinics and now leads a highly experienced and knowledgeable team. The reputation of this thriving local business has spread far and wide from its local roots in Mangotsfield, near Bristol – as Tim’s own career has blossomed, so have the fortunes of Cleve Chiropractic. For five years, Tim trained full time at the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic in Bournemouth, the UK’s oldest established chiropractic college. He completed a four-year degree programme and, after earning a BSc in Chiropractic, followed that by completing a further year of clinical training and was awarded an MSc.
During Tim’s first year of practice, he took a post-graduate qualification that led to him being awarded a Diploma of Chiropractic (DC) qualification. A Doctor of Chiropractic is not a general medical qualification but an award that recognises the high level of extra training that’s been undertaken.
He founded Cleve Chiropractic at Cleve Rugby club and the Old School GP surgery in Bristol in 2003 before moving to a bigger clinic in Mangotsfield in 2010. After 10 years Cleve Chiropractic outgrew even that space so Tim embarked once again on developing and refurbishing a new clinic, the Old School House at 20A Cossham Street down the road in Mangotsfield. With the latest move, Cleve Chiropractic now houses 10 treatment rooms, a rehab gym and even an anti-gravity treadmill room!
Over the years, Tim has not only worked hard to build a successful local business but he’s also forged a strong reputation as a specialist in the elite sporting field. He has been the official chiropractor for Bristol Rovers Football Club since 2003, a role he also held with Premiership club Bath Rugby for the best part of a decade.
For the London 2012 Olympic Games, Tim was selected to lead the chiropractic team at the sailing village in Weymouth and currently works with the Great Britain Paralympic squad at their training village in Bath. He was selected to work as a chiropractor for the London IAAF World Athletic Championships in 2017. He has also worked at the British Indoor, Outdoor and World Masters Athletics Championships and travelled to Budapest with the successful GB Masters judo team.
Included in his many postgraduate qualifications is the ICSSD (the International Chiropractic Sports Science Diploma). This qualifies him to work at major international sporting events. He has also qualified for the latest, gold standard, soft tissue Active Release Technique™ that is widely used in elite sport. In 2013, as one of Britain’s youngest ever chiropractors, Tim was awarded chiropractic’s highest honour, becoming a fellow of the Royal College of Chiropractors’ sports faculty. He has also been elected as President for the British Chiropractic Association that helps to run the profession, is a member of the Royal Society of Medicine and the British Association of Sport and Exercise Medicine, and is registered with the General Chiropractic Council.
