It almost goes without saying that we’re all learning to live in a very different new world.
Like so many businesses around the country, Cleve Chiropractic has had to make a host of important changes to the way we work and welcome customers to our premises. Safety first is definitely the new normal and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
A major part of our role has always involved looking after people – and that’s more relevant today than ever before. It’s definitely a time when everyone wants to have that feelgood factor to help them get through these extraordinary days.
So it’s really been no surprise that, since we’ve reopened our doors, the majority of our work has been concentrated on what we’ve come to know as a “pandemic of back pain”. Before the advent of coronavirus, back problems accounted for roughly 50 per cent of our treatment of sports and lifestyle injuries. Back then, the knees, ankles, shoulders, groin, tennis elbow, achilles and headaches were equally serious areas of concern.
Yes, we’ve known for years that a sedentary lifestyle is never going to end well for our backs. Now, however, a lot of people are suffering even more through having to work at home. For many, that means sitting in totally the wrong position with a laptop or tablet precariously balanced on the dining room table, sofa, bed or even just the knees!
This new “workplace” can be extremely bad news for a person’s posture and, without the right treatment and solutions, could lead to more serious problems.
It’s commendable that many people have become fitness warriors during lockdown, too. At the end of a working day spent hunched over a laptop, it’s good to get into some stretching and more serious exercise regimes – but there’s always the danger of overdoing things.
And, with more time on our hands, who hasn’t been tempted to pick up a paintbrush or tools for those annoying jobs they’ve been meaning to get done for months? I’ve even heard of people single-handedly taking on the landscaping of their entire garden to relieve the boredom and fill in time!
Of course, we all know the health risks of just sitting or lying around doing nothing apart from eating and drinking too much – and piling on the pounds in the process.
Suffice to say that, if you need us to help with any physical ailments, you’re in safe hands at Cleve Chiropractic. We have taken every possible step to ensure that our visitors and staff members feel they are coming into a very safe and secure environment, with extremely high levels of hygiene.
We’ve completed all the demanding but necessary Covid risk assessments. Our treatment rooms are disinfected before each appointment and the entire clinic is sterilized and deep cleaned on a daily basis.
The whole team have become accustomed to wearing our gloves, aprons and masks and I think it’s correct to say that we all now enjoying donning our scrubs before greeting patients in our normal cheery fashion. We are delighted to have sourced biodegradable aprons to reduce the impact on the environment.
It’s fantastic to be back in the business of serving our local community to the best of our abilities – and we look forward to welcoming both old and new customers to Cleve Chiropractic.
See you soon!
